Tamesis - Remembrance

Our friends at the Tamesis Chamber Choir have asked us to help publicise  their new CD and the associated launch concert. Here is what they say:

"We're proud and excited to announce the launch of our new CD 'Remembrance' on Saturday 6th October. We're performing a special launch concert at Wellington College Chapel, Crowthorne, Berkshire at 7:30 pm and hope you can join us.

As well as a first chance to buy the CD, well in advance of Remembrance Sunday, you'll hear us performing the beautiful programme live. All profits from the tickets (just £5) and CD sales will be donated to ABF The Soldiers' Charity. This fantastic organisation supports soldiers, veterans and their families. Their Chief of Staff is attending to introduce the CD and explain more about the charity's work, and the top-brass NCO from Sandhurst Military College will also be joining us, as well as the Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for Oxfordshire.

We're delighted to have linked up with a charity whose work is so relevant to the CD programme. It's a collection of poignant music remembering the fallen and those who serve and have served in the armed forces. We performed the same repertoire in November 2011 ("A time to mourn", the first concert in the Historic Times season) and it was so well received by our audience that we decided to base our CD recording on it. Bob Chilcott's beautiful Requiem is featured, along with arrangements of For the fallen, Greene's Lord let me know mine end, Purcell's Funeral Sentences, Daley's In Remembrance, Lang's Kontakion and Aston's So they gave their bodies. Outstanding local organist and musician Simon Dinsdale will be accompanying us on the beautiful Chapel organ, and Berkshire Maestros brass quartet will be playing the brass movements in the Purcell.

Please come and support us and The Soldiers' Charity at beautiful Wellington College Chapel on 6th October. You can buy tickets online at our website www.tamesischamberchoir.co.uk. If you can't make it, the good news is that you can pre-order the CD from our website right now! It would make a fabulous Christmas gift for a music lover as well as a wonderful way to mark Remembrance. And all the profits go to charity.

Thanks for your support.
I hope to see you there!

Reading Pride 2012

rp12 4mikeWe had a great time on stage at Reading Pride 2012 and we hope that you did too. We sang a few of our numbers from our recent "Summer of Love" show and then met visitors to Pride as they wandered past our stand. We also gave out the chance to win two tickets to our next concert and the opportunity to come to a couple of rehearsals for free. The offers expire on the 30th September, so there's still time to get in touch!
